Founded in 1995 by Robert Basham, one of the original founders of Outback Steakhouse Inc., Walkabout Air is a full-service aviation company with capabilities ranging from aircraft charter to sales and management.

From our home base in Tampa, Florida, we specialize in managing executive aircrafts for both business and private accounts, with services including flight logistics and follow-through, aircraft maintenance and record-keeping. We create operational and financial efficiencies by providing the highest-productivity aircraft for our clients’ air travel needs.

Our staff of experienced professionals offers more than 100 years of combined experience in corporate aviation. Walkabout Air’s pilots and mechanics share a working knowledge of a wide range of aircrafts, from Beechcraft King Airs to Gulfstreams. In 10+ years of operations, we have maintained an impeccable safety record, with more than 10,000 hours flown free of incident.

Walkabout Air’s pilots meet the same rigorous training standards and requirements as the national air carriers. All of our pilots are trained at Flight Safety International – the gold standard of flight training – and return to school every six months for recurrent training. We are also proud to exceed the Federal Aviation Administration’s requirements with respect to aircraft maintenance and upkeep and are ARG/US Gold certified.
